Anxious-Preoccupied

Attachment style

Loves with the radar on: monitoring, checking, dreading the exit.

Model of self

negative — “I need to prove I deserve it”

Model of the other

positive — “others are the source of what I lack”

Light

A fine sensitivity to the state of the bond; gives themselves fully; reads people with precision.

Shadow

The alarm goes off for no reason: jealousy, demands, endless rereading of messages. The fear of losing produces the very distance it dreads.

In full

Anxious attachment is a surveillance system: attention gravitates toward signs of availability — who replies, who takes too long, who cools off. Love feels like a scarce resource that could be withdrawn at any moment.

The strategy is hyperactivation: move closer, check in, protest. It works for getting attention in the short term — and wears the bond down in the long run. The work isn’t “needing less”; it is learning that the bond survives without constant vigilance.

This is a result of this lens — not a destiny. In the crossing, it gains or loses relief as the other eleven lenses agree with it or pull against it.
