Type 2 · Helper

Feeling (heart) center — shame

Loves by helping. Reads what others need before they notice it themselves.

Core fear

not being wanted, not deserving love

Core desire

to feel loved

Passion

pride — the pride of being indispensable

Avoidance

their own needs

Light

Real generosity, warmth that holds people up, a fine intuition for what each person needs.

Shadow

Gives in order to be loved — and denies needing anything. The bill for all that devotion arrives as hurt.

Arrows (the model’s theory)

In growth it tends toward type 4; under stress, it slides into patterns of type 8. That’s what the model predicts — not a measurement of you.

In full

The Helper learned early that being needed is a safe way to be wanted. Their attention gravitates toward what others lack — and they fill it, with genuine skill and affection.

The blind spot is their own need: admitting they need help threatens the identity of someone who always gives. The pride of being indispensable protects — and isolates.

At their best, they love without keeping score and include themselves in their own care. Under pressure, giving turns into control, and the unspoken hurt bursts out as demands.
